Zen of Nature II

"This exhibition is one of fine art photography, inspired by Asian art, much of which depicts serene and meditative qualities of nature. Subjects include landscapes, birds, fish and plants, concentrating on traditional Asian symbols, such as lotus flowers, koi fish, bamboo and the moon. In a spirit of cultural exchange, included are some Australian symbols - kangaroos, emus and gumtrees" Gary Steer - 2017.

Zen of Nature I

"The exhibition, Zen of Nature, is a depiction in photographs of the serene and meditative qualities of nature. I have concentrated on Buddha nature, using traditional Asian symbols, such as lotus flowers, koi fish, bamboo and the moon. Wanderings

"My next exhibition “Wanderings” is a collection of photographs I have taken on journeys in Australia and in a number of other countries over the last 10 years. Subjects are diverse, from wildlife, landscapes, aerials, historic buildings, old boats, abstract. The exhibiton will be in the Kangaroo Valley.

On my travels I have seen many valleys and the Kangaroo, to me, is one of the most beautiful valleys in the world"   Gary Steer - 2017.

Water Waves Wind

 

This exhibition is part of the Classic and Wooden Boat Show from Fri 15 - Sun 17 April being run by the Australian National Maritime Museum

“My current photographic obsession is inspired by traditional, old boats. This has swept me into an exhibition of photos of such boats and also seascapes, lighthouses and water reflections. My search for historic vessels took me to the canals of Europe, to photograph the gondolas of Venice and century old canal barges of Amsterdam. ” Gary Steer, 2016

Palate & Palette 2013
